FEDEX:

Please contact Zuzana Bencokova, Kate Humphrey or Aleksandra Kuczera to use the NDMRB FedEx account and book the parcel collection.

RM COURRIERS:

RM Couriers is the preferred courier service of the NDMRB for short distances. RM CouriersTel: 0186571228

A price should be requested when you book a collection/delivery. Ensure you specify collection from NDM Research Building, Goods In. Collection slips are available from Reception, write the price of the courier in the top right hand corner of the slip. Following this raise a requisition on the appropriate grant code. Please call RM couriers before 1pm as parcels must be collected by 3pm from Goods In. RM couriers must be made aware of this when you book the collection.

If you are sending biological samples then a biological declaration form must be completed and included with the parcel. For chemical samples a Statement for chemical and reagent compounds must be completed with the sample.

For international samples you must complete a proforma invoice for customs clearance - it is advised you included four or five copies with your samples for international shipping.

Send the white and yellow forms with your parcel, return the pink copy to Accounts. There is a shelf labelled for collections in Goods In where you can drop off your parcel. You must make sure you inform a member of the facilities team that your parcel is awaiting for collection and which courier to expect.

If your parcel is not in Goods In for collection then the courier will be turned away

You MUST ensure that the correct hazard labels are stuck to the outside of your parcel - if you are unsure please ask Zuzana Bencokova or Darren Blase who will have a stock of correct labels.

For precious temperature sensitive samples, it is advised that you use World Couriers or Davies International who can provide dry-ice top-up and temperature logging services.

Please refer to NDMRB-SOP-017: Transport of research material for the appropriate packaging and labelling.
