Woman of the Future award for Science

Rachel Tanner, from the Jenner Institute, has been awarded the 2019 'Woman of the Future award for Science' Prof Helen McShane says: "Rachel is an outstanding scientist. Her work has centred around the development, optimisation and establishment of a functional in vitro mycobacterial growth inhibition assay for TB vaccine evaluation.

She has led work programmes funded by the European Commission to transfer this assay to other laboratories and in doing so has established herself as a committed, highly effective and successful scientist. I am delighted that her trajectory and progress has been recognised by this prestigious award"
