Future HIV treatments could use 'kick and kill' strategy

It could be possible to control HIV with a ‘kick and kill’ strategy, according to new research carried out at the University of Oxford, University College London, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A single patient case-study on an 'elite controller' (a HIV positive patient with low levels of the virus) found that a 'kick and kill' vaccination strategy could be as effective as the most powerful combination antiretroviral drugs.
